Louis Rossman Just DESTROYED Denver Metro Audits

What's up, everybody? I hope you guys are doing fantastic. Something pretty massive just happened. The huge YouTuber Louis Rossmann with over 2.5 million subscribers just covered the lawsuit and he completely tore apart Denver Metro Audits. Now, this video is going to have two purposes. The first purpose is to welcome the new viewers and kind of break down everything that's been happening and I will prove you without a shadow of a doubt that this is an anti-free speech retaliation lawsuit. I can prove it within just a few minutes. Give me 5-10 minutes and you will have undeniable proof of what I'm saying. And the second part is going to be for my viewers, for those who haven't seen this video, we're going to react to it. Let me just say it is glorious. So, let's get started. Right off the bat, this is an anti-free speech retaliation lawsuit. He is suing me for copyright infringement and let me just show you a few clips that will prove what I'm saying. The first one I want to show you is this one. Take a look at this. For me, yeah, obviously I have a message that I want to get out there. So, if somebody else shares it, you know, sometimes people share my stuff, they don't even give me a shout-out and I think that's not cool. I'm not going to go as far as to sue you for that, but you know, I think these channels, a lot of these channels, especially they're making all these shorts and stuff, they have big channels, hundreds of thousands of subscribers, millions of views and like they use my stuff and a bunch of people's stuff and they never give a shout-out like some of those AI ones, they they say, "This auditor." That's what they refer to me as, "This auditor." So, just so we're clear, he's saying that he doesn't have a problem if an AI slop channel uses his content, does not give him a shout-out, uses the entire thing as long as they agree with his message. If they agree with his message, he will not sue them, even though they put no transformation and he describes it as AI slop. But, let's keep listening. out of care. It's like, "Dude, this You couldn't even say Denver Metro Audits, dude." >> [laughter] >> You know what I mean? I I don't think that's cool, but I'm not going to sue you because the most important thing is the message, right? So, that's fine, I guess. It's not fine. You should at least give shout-outs though. But, I'm not going to sue you for that. So, you agree with me, I don't sue you. You disagree with me, you get sued. And this is a fact because there are three lawsuits that this guy has filed against people, and they're all people that criticize him. There are other channels that use his content more or less, doesn't matter. Sometimes they don't even do a single line of commentary. They use his content, he doesn't care. It doesn't matter as long as they agree with the message. And let me just clarify something about our community. So, I call out what we call frauditors, people like Denver Metro Audits. And let me just say that I'm not pro-corruption. I am not pro-cops that are dirty and don't do the right thing and abuse the rights of the citizen. Matter of fact, I have another channel called JoshPryme2, where I cover body cam footage, and I posted a video 3 days ago about a cop that was showed up to work completely drunk, and she got arrested. In that same video, I talk about a judge that was corrupt and was abusing her power. So, we are not bootlickers, as they call it. Basically, we just don't like people that abuse their rights to target others. And I believe that's what frauditors like Denver Metro Audits do. And I just want to show you this video over here. This is a First Amendment audit that Denver Metro Audits did on a mentally disabled individual. This video is very hard to watch. Let me just say that. You can tell that this lady has issues, and in this video, you can see here that they have a confrontation. He's there, he's recording her, he's putting her on YouTube, he's arguing about the law with her, even though you can tell that there's something wrong, and then she disengages, she walks over to move on with her day, and what does he do? He follows her. He follows her to the train station, and he continues to make his video. He's auditing a mentally disabled individual. It's I find that revolting. I find that completely disgusting, and that's why I started this channel, and that's why our community exists. It's for videos like this. It's to call out call out garbage like this. At least that's my opinion. So, that's been covered. We covered about this one. Now, Denver Metro Audits, when he filed this lawsuit, he never expected me to fight it. He expected me to just roll over, and here's the proof. who believes that their videos are fair use. I don't think so. I don't know if he spoke to an attorney. I feel like he's probably just not going to acknowledge it. He's just going to accept the default judgment. That's kind of the way it seems like it's going right now. Um he's just going to say screw it cuz he I mean, he's going to have to pay it would probably take him 10 15 thousand dollars to put down as a retainer if he wants to fight this. And then, you know, after litigation and everything, you know, it's going to take a couple years, so all said and done, he might pay a hundred thousand. So, he's going to spend more money defending He's going to spend more money defending this one video than he's made on this entire channel since he started it, basically. So, it might be that So, you see how proud he was that he found a situation where he's going to force me to spend more money that I have made on my entire channel to defend one video. One video that was fair use, by the way, it has a bunch of commentary in it, and on top of that, I had his permission, because that's the next point. You see, Denver Metro Audits wasn't always like this. He didn't always have a painted beard on. Before, he was a somewhat normal individual. In 2022, on July 24th, me and him had a conversation. And during this conversation, he has already been aware of my videos. He knew what I was doing. He knew I was using his footage. But, he said, "You know what? I'm not going to sue you. I don't have a problem with what you do. We have different audiences. So, it's not a big deal." Listen to this clip. It's about 1 minute and 40 seconds. Let me just clarify that before that he threatened to sue me for using his image, which is still an IP dispute. And now he clarified saying, "You know what? I'm not going to sue you. I don't have a problem with what you do. We have different audiences." So, that's what I thought was happening. I knew I had his permission. And later on in the game, he decided to change his mind without revoking his permission. And he decided to file 12 [ __ ] copyright strikes and this nonsense lawsuit. Take a look at this. I got another request. Can we watch a different one? Let's do that one. >> Of course. But while I do while while I have you on here, so let let's just address a few things cuz I you know, it's rare that we get a chance to talk. We've never spoken uh uh you know, as face-to-face as it's going to get. So, are you serious about the lawsuit? You can't be, right? There's no way you are. Dude, you know, I don't know. I actually did talk to my attorney about it. And and I just brought it up to him and he said, "Well, we need to get his last name so we can do a cease and desist." And I was like, "Okay, that's that's fine." And um you know, I don't know. I haven't really been talking to him about it. So, he said, "We need to get your last name." And that's the last I heard. I I don't think I'm really going to pursue it. Like you said, you only sold two shirts. And it was me and you. They're the only ones who it, so >> You're better off to ask for a refund, but I don't think that would qualify because you're a satisfied customer. Dude, I'm a satisfied customer, man. Yeah. Um That's awesome. That's going in my intro, for sure. >> Yeah. Dude, um you know what? It's like uh It's I kind of lost my ways a little bit because I was, you know, I I preach a lot on my my spiritual channel that what you resist persists, right? And that that fighting for peace is like shouting for silence, so um I as far as like going against you and be like, "Oh, I'm going to sue you." and all that kind of stuff. It's just that's just perpetuating it and making everything worse, I feel like, so you know, I I don't have any problem with what you guys do. You guys do your own thing. You guys have your own your followers that that disagree with what we do and that's fine. Um and I don't have anything against you guys, you know, you guys do what you do and and I do what I do, so So, you heard it straight out of the Frauditor's mouth. He said, "I don't have a problem with what you do. You have your people. I have my people. I'm not going to sue you." Now, that was in July 24th, 2022. Now, what happened between that time and the time he filed the copyright strikes is he got arrested and he made case law. So, I started roasting him saying, "Look, you don't know what you're talking about because you just made case law. You got arrested. You appealed. You failed." And he got extremely butt hurt and that's why he filed these dirty copyright strikes. So, we're fighting all of this in court. I hired an attorney. He thought I was going to roll over. That's not the case. So far, we have spent $46,000 and we have raised about 20,000 off GoFundMe and about 7,000 on GoFundMe and I want to say thank you very much to every single one of you that are helping us fight this fight. I noticed just this morning from the Louis Rossmann video, we had already 200 bucks of new donations. So, I want to say thank you so much. We will fight this all the way through. And I think I've proven the case that this is an anti-free speech retaliation lawsuit. Now, the 1201 circumvention claim is what is very important to people in the tech space like Louis Rossmann, and this is something that he added afterwards. So, he realized that I was fighting it and that we had permission and all that stuff and that these videos not probably not going to go his way. So, he decided to add the 1201 circumvention. So, he's accusing us of illegally downloading his videos. And the problem with that is that Well, first of all, I didn't. So, there's that. And he was able to bring a claim against us with zero evidence, but it it's nonsense. Anyways, let me show you the video from Louis Rossmann. He really tears him a new one. And I just want to show you the part. Look at this, okay? This is This is pretty glorious, if you ask me. can tell you, "Hey, you can't film us. Stop that. That's illegal." That's tyranny. And I understand that. The first amendment auditors may not always necessarily come across as nice and kind and caring, but they're there to try and check and make sure that your rights are intact. There are some people that go a little too far with it. That just are just doing this to [ __ ] with people and get attention and, you know, create annoying scenarios for people. And that's the thing. That's the distinction because we don't call out the ones that are there for real purposes. There was this auditor called Ironton Auditor. This guy would go, he would do cop watching, would just do stuff completely legitimately with no uh malicious intentions. And I didn't make videos on this guy. Matter of fact, I invited him on to my channel and had a very good conversation with him. So, the purpose is not to go after those kind of people. The purpose is to go after the rage baiters, the pieces of [ __ ] And in my opinion Denver Metro Audits is one of them. They don't want to be recorded and be obnoxious about it. And that is where channels like the Fro Auditor channel comes in. Fro Auditor is a channel that is very highly critical of a lot of the tactics used by many First Amendment auditors, and he does not pull any punches. Now, there are valid points to be made on each side here. Again, I want to live in a country where I can record the police. So, if if you can't record the police, if they have the ability to, you know, take out their baton or just start shooting you when you take out your phone and record them, uh that's pretty [ __ ] up. And that I agree with him. You should be able to record the cops as long as you're not interfering. And let me just say that First Amendment auditors had made it much more difficult to record the police if you have real good intentions now. Because of their behavior, there are certain states that enacted laws similar to the Halo law in Florida, where now you have to stand 25 ft away from law enforcement if they're performing their duties. So, whose fault is that? That's the Fro Auditors' fault. They made this happen. So, they are making it harder They're They're basically screwing over their own movement and making it harder for people with good intentions to accomplish, um you know, cop watching or whatever you want to do, whether you're recording for a documentary or you just want to observe a situation, they are making it harder for you. Uh simultaneously, there are a lot of First Amendment audit channels that I see where it looks like some [ __ ] resembling like Fuzzy Tube circa 2015. It's It's a distasteful prank channel and it's just [ __ ] annoying. We got Tyran Hudson here. Hey, how are you doing? >> from last time, the douchebag. This clown right here. Freaking clown right here, man. Let's follow him around. >> where you stand on this So, this is very interesting because Louis Rossman posted this clip of Denver Metro Audits, and he said from Denver Metro Audits YouTube channel via YTDLP. Now, that is a video downloading software, a ripping software. And what's happening here is that Louis Rossmann is is taunting him. He's saying, "Come get me, [ __ ] I'm ready for the fight. I'm ready to fight this in court. You want to prove that this is illegal? Come get me. I am confessing to it right now." That's what he's saying. That's what he's saying by putting that message over here, and he's going to reiterate that later on in the video. So, DMA, if you ever wanted a 1201 case, it looks like Louis Rossmann is inviting you to sue him. Now, are you going to take the bait? Are you going to bring him in court? No, you won't. Obviously, you will not because you are scared of a massive YouTuber that has a lot of resources. You were trying to target and bully a small creator, but now that a massive YouTuber is going to do this and taunt you, I bet you're going to [ __ ] out, and you're not going to sue him. I bet. I mean, look at this. Now, he's going to move He talks about the case, and I recommend you watch the whole video if you want to see um the his entire reaction, but I want to show you the end part because the end part is really, really important because it reiterates that he thinks this is wrong, and he's willing to fight for it. Just like we're fighting for it right now, we're spending our money to fight this case and to prevent really bad case law from being created because, trust me, if this goes through, this will be used to target people that are criticizing others. If you think that someone is going to bring a 1201 claim against someone that agrees with them, you're mistaken. That's not going to happen. It's only going to be brought against critics. It's going to be used to silence free speech, which is what I was talking at the beginning of the video. But here, take a look at this. used a piece of your [ __ ] video on YouTube, Have you sued because they use YouTube that the video was fair use? Which by the way, YouTube never [ __ ] does. YouTube almost always agrees with the person filing the strike. But you lost a YouTube strike. After you lost it on the merit, now you're going to try and and also again be like a weaselly little [ __ ] with it and then try to say, "Oh well, you had my video on screen. Well, how did you get my video on screen, huh? Well, you you you must have broken the DRM. So I'm going to get you for breaking the DRM." Like no, cuz no, that's not how that works. Cuz there's other people on YouTube that have used videos from this channel. How many [ __ ] people have you sued for that? How many? He has sued three people and the only three people he sued are people that criticize his content and criticize his message. He has admitted himself that if an AI slop channel rips his entire video and does not give him credit, he doesn't care. The it's nuts. It's mind-blowing. I'm so happy that the YouTube community is finally picking up on this story. I'm I'm so thankful to Louis for making this video. So thankful. More people need to see this because it will affect the YouTube landscape. It will affect thousands of creators. How many people, Denver Metro Audits, that have used a piece of your [ __ ] video on YouTube have you sued because they used YouTube Downloader or screen capture software to show you a video on their channel? You didn't. This is a fair use or copyright issue. This is a censorship issue that is being disguised as a DRM issue. You're trying to use a law that criminalizes the process of breaking a digital lock which you bought and [ __ ] paid for to get content taken down that you don't like. And that's where I draw the line. I started my nonprofit last year to reform this [ __ ] law. This law is not about your petty [ __ ] grievance. This law is not even about piracy. This law is about the fundamental question of do you own what you bought and paid for in a world where a [ __ ] baby monitor can get turned into a subscription. This law is an abomination and a stain on our country. And that's why I like Louis. Um, I like what he does and I I've been watching his channel for a while because he fights for the consumer. He fights for the average person that buys a product and then becomes a target of the corporation's greed. And he fights this in many ways. Mainly by bringing awareness, but also with his non-profit. So, I'm really really thrilled to have him on our side. want to see it reformed. We've started a non-profit with the intention of reforming. We have a bounty program where we go over different devices that have been disabled by the manufacturer that we are paying people to break open and make work against so we can demonstrate just how much damage this law does. We have a wiki with thousands of articles going over this. I have a staff of a half a dozen people quickly expanding that are going to be working on this. Lobbyists, we work with lawmakers, and we will win. But something I'm also looking for is a test case. You see there's a legislative route, there's the cultural route, but there's also the judicial route. To show that piece of your video, I used YTDLP. Would you like to sue me? I would love to test this case in court. Unfortunately, nobody has sued me yet. I would love to get a frivolous lawsuit. You have no idea. There are three types of people in this world. There are the people that go, "No, please. I'll do whatever you say. I don't want to get in legal trouble. I'm afraid of getting fired. I don't want to get a legal letter. Oh, no." There are the people that are going, "Yeah, you know So, that's what DMA thought we were. He thought we were option number one, which is we were going to crawl over and come to the table and negotiate with him. That did not happen. We are option number two, which he'll explain in just a moment. >> Well, I'll defend myself. And then there's people like me. The people that get into fights, they don't even care if their nose gets broken, just because they enjoy the taste of their own blood. Which type of person do you think I am? [ __ ] around and find out. I'm not sure if my non-profit is going to be able to extend help in this particular case. It's almost midnight and I haven't had time to consult with everybody else. I like to make sure he's making the right arguments. And I sure as [ __ ] don't want to see him give up because he runs out of money for a lawyer. That's for sure. If this case is one And that's the thing. We need to fight all the way through. This is what I've been telling you guys for months now is that this lawsuit will affect a lot of people. So, if you want to donate, let me just clarify how it's going. At first, we had a lawyer based in California. We parted ways. Um not going to discuss why right now, but I hired a new lawyer. His name is Simon Lin and this guy is an expert in this field. He's used to these international lawsuits because I'm in Canada, the plaintiffs in the states. That complicates things a little bit and he is highly, highly qualified for this case. I'm thrilled with the work that he has put so far. As a matter of fact, he's about to drop a response to one of their motions today and let me just say I'm very happy with this guy. So, the money is going to good use. We are going to fight this all the way through. in Denver Metro Auditor's favor. Section 1201 of the DMCA will be able to be used in every single censorship or takedown case you see on YouTube when people disagree with one another. This is so [ __ ] petty and stupid. If he had simply had a monitor up, right? Like if he had just put the monitor up with Denver Metro Auditor's video and zoomed his camera in on it, had the microphone up to the speaker, that would not have been breaking a technological measure. He could have done that. And then that part of the claim would have been gone. And we know that Denver Metro Auto's issue is not with the fact that he used YouTube DLP. It's with the fact that he was criticized by somebody. Let's be real here. Cuz he would have gotten the same [ __ ] point across. If you look at Frauditor Troll's channel, it's like 67,000 subscribers criticizing First Amendment Audits. It's not like he makes his money off of selling bootleg copies of Blu-rays where people are only going to pay if it's perfect quality. He could have very easily criticized you by just having having his camera filming his laptop. If you want to sue somebody for doing that, sue me. I'm admitting to doing it in this video, which is the defense. >> And this is what's savage about this is that he's literally confessing. He's like, "The thing you're accusing Frauditor Troll of doing that he's fighting that he did not do, I did it right now. Come get me, bitch." Like that's crazy. I'm not going to lie, that's savage, man. That is [ __ ] hilarious. And um DMA is too much of a [ __ ] to take this fight on. It's not going to happen. He, you know, >> [laughter] >> I would love to see that. I would love to see that. They can't be made for Frauditor Troll. I am not afraid of legal battles. I am not afraid of confrontation, and I am not afraid of getting my hands dirty. I would enjoy every second I spent on that case, because not investing in that right now is giving up freedom of speech into the future for every single person on YouTube. Cuz even if something technically is fair use, even if YouTube's own system, which is almost always in favor of the person filing the strike, says that your video can stay up, somebody will file a claim saying, "Oh, it's section 1201." When we know that that wasn't even the problem to begin with. If you are a large content creator on YouTube, or if you're a small content creator on YouTube, and you've ever included somebody else's video within your video, this is very important to you, and I hope that you cover it. There are many people on this channel that have many millions more subscribers than I do that will do videos where they'll show a piece of somebody else's video, and you'll think, "Well, that's fair use. I didn't do anything wrong, right?" Well, even if you didn't do anything wrong via fair use, This is exactly what I've been saying. This law can be used to squeeze people out of money that you don't like. If you have the financial resources to bring a claim and you might be able to squeeze someone out of money and you might be able to get settlements even if the video was fair use like mine. And that's why I'm saying this law in my opinion is poorly written and we need to fight this all the way through to make sure that this situation doesn't happen to someone else. Look guys, I'm for the viewers that might be new like this has been really stressful for my wife and I and this in my opinion was the intent. It was revenge. We have our third baby on the way. My wife is three and a half months pregnant. So, we're going through this, you know, we're expecting a new baby, then we're fight we're fighting this [ __ ] lawsuit that is just clearly retaliation against our free speech. It's nonsense, but we have to fight it through because we can't just roll over. We can't be option number one that bows down to, you know, I'm going to keep my word moderated here, but you know what I mean. So, that's why we have to fight it through. If you used a downloading program or a screen capture program to obtain a copy of that video to put it into your video editor, you have broken a law that is punishable by three to five years in federal prison. There are many people in this platform, I know who I know many of you exist that have much larger reaches than I do that do videos regularly where you comment on other people's videos. There are hundreds of you and if this affects you too. It this is not just about some 60,000 subscriber YouTube channel because when the judge rules in this case, if Denver Metro Audits continues to push forward with this case rather than drop it, they will be setting a precedent that has not been set before that section 1201 can be used to limit free speech and fair use on this entire [ __ ] planet. That's what I've been saying. Everybody, anybody that uses It doesn't matter if it's 10 seconds of another person's footage, whether it's anyone, anyone that does react content, doesn't matter how much work you put into it, how much commentary, you could get sued if someone has enough resources and they don't like what you're saying. It could affect millions of creators. Not not thousands, millions. platform. That is a dangerous precedent to have set. We need as many people as possible on this platform to band together against this [ __ ] This judge actually rules in favor of Denver Metro Audits, we are all [ __ ] I don't usually bother my audience to do this to people. Get other people to talk about this. Everybody on YouTube that makes content where they've ever been critical of somebody else's content needs to be made aware of just how [ __ ] they could be if this case finishes in Denver Metro Audits' favor.
