So, at this point, I'm trying to go move on to phase two and request the records that I need. They are absolutely refusing me to request my records. And um you know, it's not cool. She said, "Okay." and walked away. Right? So, there wasn't a long interaction there. Then a couple attorneys came out and said, "Leave." And that was it. And I said, "Why? Why do I have to leave?" So, your records pertaining to the charges for the county, the names of the people who are taking cases for the county, and other public records are requested through the Public Defender's Office. You guys took that on when you chose to take on being the public defender, right? And that's just the way the law works. So, I'm trying to do a records request to get that information from you guys. It's going to be in if if you guys say you're not the public defender, which you are, it's going to be invoices, what's being charged, it's going to be names, it's going to be records of employees who are doing the public defender's work. So so there is no That's my whole point is if you So for instance, if you were a private entity, right? Like you say you are and I was your client, you would send me an invoice to pay the bill, right? >> it doesn't >> How how how would you guys get me to pay a bill? >> We get paid by the county. If I hired you and said, "Hey, I want to hire you." you would send me a bill. That's how every lawyer does it. >> No. >> You guys don't do that. Why? There's a part of government code 6250 that says I have to request it from the record holding agency, right? Since these records are generated by you guys, you're the record holding agency. I cannot go somewhere else in the county and request it because it has to be through you guys. So you're just wrong. Don't know what you're talking about. >> can be wrong. Where do I go with that? At that point they need to give me that information, which they can't because they don't. They're the They're the public defender. >> So what I was going to get to is like the sheriff's office we take public records requests and process our own. The county does have their own procedure, so I was going to actually look that up. I had know I've seen that before. Those are the two that I've seen for the county. >> Well, I know where to do it.
